Ducks Unlimited TV at Champetre County - Fall 2010
On September 29th, 2010, the crew from Ducks Unlimited TV arrived at Champetre County Outpost to shoot an episode with Prairie Rose Outfitters. The on camera team of Mike Checkett and Huntley Ritter were joined by DU Canada CEO Jeff Nelson for three days of duck and goose hunting east of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. We set the DU TV crew, with their array of camera gear, in 5 seperate well scouted locations ranging from small potholes with several dozen floater decoys to snow goose field shoots with nearly 1000 decoys deployed. To say that they had enough footage is an understatement. Day One set the crew in two different duck pond locations. Day Two split the morning and afternoon between a Canada Goose field shoot and a Snow Goose field shoot. Day Three was a field of truly mixed bag hunting with Snows, Canadas and Mallards. It's 6:07 AM. You hunch down a little lower in the crisp morning air as the noisy flock circles once more, swinging lower and closer.
